The Boston Tea Party and What It Means Today.
The American Revolution
was about tax protests, individual
rights, liberty, freedom of speech
and defense of private property.
Historical principals such as
these are rarely taught in school
today, because history is now
down played.
But Nick Anderson, a
Timeflyer, goes back in time
and lives the events of those
days. Many say that the
principals that could be learned
from these events could not be
taught to so young an audience
as 5th or 6th graders.
If history is treated like an
ongoing story, and made
interesting and relevant to
today's events, it can be
taught and enjoyed by kids
of all ages.
Nick Anderson: Timeflyer
The American Revolution
was started in 2003 and was
published in early 2005. Even
though the boy Nick is fictional,
the historical events that took
place are true.
Story outline:
Nick,our hero, is an orphan,
and now lives with his Grandpa.
His family are Timeflyers.
This heredity work was given
to the Andersons hundreds
of years ago. With the job
comes the Window of Time.
Known as "Window" she is
the device through which Nick
travels back in time. She
knows the history as the
events unfold and is there
to help keep history as it
should be.
Not one to rewrite history,
but instead to allow her keeper
(in this case Nick and his family)
to learn history as it happens.
In many cases the Andersons
had to be there in order for
the history as we know it
to take place.
